​Artists are invited to submit their original artwork for the chance to win a cash prize in the Annual Redding Fire Festival Poster Art Contest. The First Place winning entry will be reproduced as a high-quality, limited-edition poster that will be distributed throughout the community.

Grand Prize Winner: A $200 cash prize and two 1-day passess will be awarded to the First Place Winner. 

People's Choice Winner: The Second Place Winner will receive two 1-day passes.

Submission Deadline: November 25th, 2023

RULES:

• Only original artwork will be considered. Copyrighted and/or trademarked characters or material that you do not have commercial rights to will not be considered.  Reproductions are not eligible.
  

• All entries must be completed and suitable for reproduction.​
  

• Accepted format submissions: JPEG, PNG, PSD and PDF are accepted.  Or you may mail a physical copy.
  

• Competition is open to all 2-dimensional artists.
  

• Competition is open to amateur and professional artists.
  

• Painting, Hand-Drawn, Photography & Digital Arts are included, but video is excluded.
  

  • You can create the poster using any program you wish.
    

• You must register with the form below.
  

• Entries by file upload or email must be submitted no later than November 25th, 2023.  Entries submitted by mail must be postmarked no later than November 23rd, 2023.
  

  • You can upload a file via the registration form below. Files uploaded via the form must be no larger than 10MB.

• The artwork will not be returned.
  

• The People’s Choice voting will begin on December 1st, 2023.

• The winners will be announced on December 16th, 2023.
  

• The winner must submit a valid W9 in order to claim the cash prize.
  

• The cash prize will be sent in February, 2024.
  

SCORING:

• The winning entry will be the artwork judged to best capture the spirit and essence of the festival.

• The score will have a total of 100 points possible.

    • Voters may opt in to receive newsletter updates, but this is not mandatory.

• All entries become the property of Hottel Productions As such, Hottel Productions reserves the non-exclusive right to use submissions in official publications and for promotional purposes. 
  

• There is no limit to the number of images that an artist can submit, but only one piece of artwork can win a prize.
  

• Artists 18 years old and older may apply.
  

  • Artists 13-17 years old may apply; however, the cash prize will be awarded to their parent or legal guardian.
    

DESIGN GUIDELINES:

• ​Entries must follow the fire-theme or outer space-theme.
  

• The poster must be 11 x 17 inches or A3 Paper, minimum of 200 ppi resolution.
  

• The poster must include a border with a 2.5 inch space on the bottom to allow for sponsor logos.
  

• No logos of any kind may appear in the design aside from the Redding Fire Festival logo.
  

• The Redding Fire Festival logo must be prominent and larger than the other written content.
  

• All required written content must be included and visible on the poster.
  

  • Templates 1-3 include all required written content.  You must add the required written content to Template 4.
    

• ​Required written content (you can use different punctuation on the poster, such as periods instead of slashes on dates, etc.)
